Balled my eyes out.

So today towards the end of the day a member at where i work came in and was telling us about when her husband died a week ago.  She was telling us that towards the end he was happy he even told her i get to go meet my creator.  In his last days she said he was looking at the ceiling and looked at her and pointed up and said can i go up there now?  I had to excuse myself so she didn't see me cry. Even in his sickness he never lost his faith in the Lord what a beautiful thing. .  Rest in peace Mr. Forey i pray you are at peace  now.

Have a blessed day

Poison

What is there to do other than pray for someone who is poison in a church?  When people leave a church because they do not agree with the change that is happening, or lie about why they are leaving.  Is the church better off without that person?  Or should the church contact that person and try to get them to come back?  I personally believe in order for a church to grow for the better it is sometimes better for the poison to leave.  If those people cannot come to grips that life changes everyday and a church needs to change to become appealing to people who need him more than anything.  Plus is the poison of the church just wants to be at the church and that is it, then they truly are not part of the church.  To be a part of the church you have to be part of the church.  You should want to volunteer your time, whether it is to be involved in greeting, nursery, children's ministry, a life group or the service projects.  People who just want to be at church to say to the world I am a Christian I go to church on Sunday's and that's it, may not be a true Christ like follower.  Now if those people leave the church and get involved at another church you can be thankful that they are still following the teachings of Christ and pray they are finding peace in their decision.  I am very excited about the road my church is on and those who are not should get off the ride at the next station because in order for us to reach the lost we need to all be united and be excited for what God has in store for us.

Have a blesses day

Meat-Eaters

Genesis 1:30and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.

After reading Genesis for school while getting to this part.  I started thinking was every meat eating animal originally a vegetarian until sin fell upon on the earth?  If so then everything in the world that breath's air has born into sin and not just human"s.  I for one know that I treat my dogs as they are my children and a extreme part of the family.  Can we feel comfort in knowing that when animals die they to are met at the gates of heaven?  My mind goes a million miles a minute at some things.  I know this is probably really far out there.  But it was something on my mind at the moment and had to share it.

Mellow

Lately while I have doing my reading for school or taking my quizzes I have been listening to Joshua Bell.  I love the sound of the violin and something about his arrangements is just peaceful to me.  I may even try this music when I have my time with God.  Just me God and relaxing music to help me out.  Everyone has to have there own little quirky way to have their alone time with God.  What is yours?  Do you have it in weird places?

Have to toot my own horn here.

So today I completed my Christian Basic course.  On to the next class.  I was one to not enjoy school but when it is about the Lord there is something different with enjoying it.  Today is a great day the Lord is making waves and I'm on the track to be one of them.

94% Have Nomophobia -- Do You?

Ok so I just read the following article and had to share it with you.  I know way too many people who actually have this.  There are times that I feel like I have to have my phone but half the time when I get home from work I don't even worry about my phone.

"Nomophobia" is the fear of being out of mobile phone contact.  The psychological term abbreviates "no-mobile-phone phobia."  "Cell Phone Loss Anxiety" is a related term for those who lose their mobile devices.  Such diagnoses are more needed today than ever.  According to a Psychology Today report, when asked how they felt after misplacing their cell phone, 73 percent said they panicked, 14 percent became desperate, and seven percent became physically sick.

The founder of an online dating site observed, "People in the 21st century are alone.  We have so many new ways of communicating, yet we are so alone."  One expert notes: "It's a great psychological truth that if we don't teach our children how to be alone, they will always be lonely."

How would Jesus have handled a cell phone?

We find a clue in Mark 1:35.  After large crowds gathered to meet our Lord, did he begin the day turning listeners into followers?  Networking with his leadership team?  Forging strategies for continued growth?  None of the above: "Rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed."  He knew that we must be much with God before we can be much for him. In Genesis 46 we read, "Israel took his journey with all he had and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.  And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night" (vs. 1-2).  Israel (Jacob) learned that sacrifice precedes revelation.  I must get alone with God in worship and submission before I can hear his Spirit's voice clearly.  Solitude does not earn revelation—it positions us to receive what our Father wants to tell us. Lent begins today.  This is a season for contemplation, reflection, and solitude. (Click to tweet) My Lenten guide for 2015, Transformed: How Stories of the Cross Are Changing the World, is intended to help.  (To read the free download, click here.)  Whether you use Transformed or other resources, I encourage you to make a strategy for deepening your walk with Jesus across these sacred weeks.

Meister Eckhart (1260-1327) was a German philosopher and theologian.  In a sermon on sanctification, he notes: "Everything settles in its own appropriate place; now God's proper place is that of oneness and holiness; these come from sanctification; therefore God must of necessity give himself to a sanctified heart."  I want to have such a heart.

Eckhart also observed, "To be full of things is to be empty of God.  To be empty of things is to be full of God."  Which is more true of you?  And he promised, "What we plant in the soil of contemplation, we shall reap in the harvest of action."

When last did you plant in such soil?

What is my purpose?

Oh there are so many morning when I wake up that I ask what is my purpose.  I am sure everyone asks that question every now and then.  But this is what I am truly searching for lately.  I am taking the ministry courses because I truly felt the push to go that way and by doing so I hope God opens doors and opens my eyes to what he wants me to do with it.  Call it the winter time blues or what not but this weather does truly have me down in the dumps.  So many things on my mind lately and this is the time I need to de-stress myself.   I need to focus on getting through this Christian Basic's course and get my house in order as well.  Can we say Jocelyn is going to be listening to lecture's while cleaning.  Please Lord make this day better than it started.

Have a blessed day.

What a week so far

What a week so far Michigan got pounded with snow and we have more coming Saturday.  Work has been nuts, I have been by myself and people have been crying about their snow removal.  On top of that the most exciting thing about this week is that I have started classes for Ministry.  I am so excited and nervous at the same time.  Right now I am still working through the Basic program.  But the readings and the video lectures that I have watched have opened my eyes to so much already and I have just begun.  How exciting.  God is opening doors and not just for me for everyone you just have to make the CHOICE to walk through it.  Trust me it may be scary at first but the feeling I have in my heart is indescribable.  I have been asked before about what it was like when the Holy Spirit knocked on my heart spoke so loud that I jumped in with both feet and haven't looked back, but I could not describe it at all.  The only way I can possibly come close to it is, when you are on a mission and you are so focused that you don't see anything else but the end result and know that you can relax and breath when that is done.  I am excited for the moves that GOD is making in my life and I know it will only benefit me for the better.

Have a blessed day
