Transformation

So today the word transformation came up.

1.a marked change in form, nature, or appearance.

synonyms:change, alteration, modification, variation, conversion, revision, amendment, metamorphosis, transfiguration, evolution, mutation, sea change; More

2. MATHEMATICS•LOGIC
a process by which one figure, expression, or function is converted into another one of similar value.

So here I agree with definition 1, because when we give our life to christ he completely transforms us when we truly let him in.  I like definition 2, because we are converted into to something new with the same outer shell.

When I let Jesus in my life changed in the blink of an eye.  It is weird if I'm watching something that is border line.  I get this overwhelming feeling of guilt.  It took me a little bit to realize that was the holy spirit within me telling me you shouldn't be watching this.  Listening to that inner tug will only help in the long run.  Do I listen all the time? No but I am getting better at it. Nobody is perfect and nobody ever will be.

Listened below is 13 verses I found talking about transformation.  Enjoy

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 3:18 - But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Acts 1:18 - Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

Remnant

Lately when reading the bible or watching a sermon. Random words stick out to me and I look the definition up and dig in.  Today the word remnant stuck out to me from a 1 minute video of Steve Furtik.

remnant
noun

1. a part or quantity that is left after the greater part has been used, removed, or destroyed.
"the bogs are an endangered remnant of a primeval landscape"
synonyms:remains, remainder, leftovers, leavings, residue, rest; More

2.CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY
a small minority of people who will remain faithful to God and so be saved (in allusion to biblical prophecies concerning Israel).
"if any one ceases to be a witness, he ceases to be one of the remnant"

I found it interesting that definition 1 was about a quantity left over, then the 2nd was about Christian Theology.

Well both can apply to us,  a part or quantity left over can be about the Holy Spirit that lives in us. After all isn't the holy spirit the part of jesus that is left for us after he went to heaven?!

But the 2nd definition bugs me because it says a small minority.  That raises a concern to me because it is a small amount that actually stay faithful.  Many will say yes I believe but they do not stay faithful in the word.  As Christians we have work to do.  More than a small amount need to be faithful.

Share your faith, remember there is no need to quote the bible to someone who wants to debate. Tell your jesus story,  this does not need to be about where you came from and how you got there today.  Yes that is important but your jesus story is about what jesus has done for your life.  This is all the little things he does for you daily.  So share when you can and love and respect everyone when you can't.
